In Japanese, Bolu becomes Boru-san (ボルさん), because Japanese has no L sound, so R steps in.
Your Journey レベル
Points you earn in games level up your journeyBoth journeys start at Level 1, Ground Up, with no knowledge assumed, and the games serve content at your level. Every 100 XP opens the next level and unlocks new character rows, word sets, and phrase sets. You can always practice a higher level in any game, and the points still count honestly toward your journey.

One full Bochi meeting, start to finish. Work down the list together: each phase opens the right game, and when you finish a phase, mark it done and move on. At the end you get a summary with scores, new words, and homework for next time.
Conversation Rouletteかいわルーレット
Spin for a topic. Bolu talks about it in Japanese, then Chihiro talks about it in English. Two minutes each, no pressure to be perfect. Finishing your talk earns +5 points.
Hiragana Heroひらがなヒーロー
Bolu's gameTen kana per round, built for Bolu's level. Read the hiragana and pick the right romaji. Correct answers earn +10, and a streak of 3 or more adds a +5 bonus. Chihiro plays coach: cheer, hint with sounds, and keep the energy up.
Word Duelことばデュエル
A 12 turn head to head battle. On Bolu's turns the word is Japanese and the answers are English. On Chihiro's turns it flips: English word, Japanese answers. Correct answers earn +10. Every word you get right joins your learned list on the summary.
Translate Challengeほんやくチャレンジ
One player translates out loud, the other plays judge. Bolu turns Japanese sentences into English. Chihiro turns English sentences into Japanese. Say it first, then reveal the model answer together. Judge taps Correct for +10.
Story Chainものがたりチェーン
Build a silly story together, one sentence at a time. Bolu writes in Japanese (romaji is fine too), Chihiro writes in English. Each sentence earns +2. Use a twist word to make it weird. The sillier, the better.
Culture Quizカルチャークイズ
Trivia from Japan, the United States, and Nigeria, so both of you get home turf questions and away questions. Take turns answering. Correct answers earn +10, and every question comes with a fun fact to talk about.
Phrase Exchangeフレーズこうかん
Teach each other the good stuff: real Japanese phrases for Bolu, real English idioms and slang for Chihiro. Tap the speaker to hear it, say it out loud three times together, then mark it practiced for +5.

Book a Bochi Session
Choose a time below and lock in your next call together. It only takes a minute, and the calendar handles the time zone math for both of you.
Bolu is free after 7:00 PM Chicago time. The open times below are his evening windows, every day. If a time is not shown, he is not available then.
Sessions are 45 minutes on video. Pick a start time and you will get a video link with your booking confirmation.
Times are shown in your local time zone. Chihiro sees Japan time automatically, and Bolu sees Chicago time. No conversion needed.
When Chihiro books, Bolu gets a notification. He can confirm or reply from that notification, so you both know the plan is set.

Your current hours are 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM Chicago, every day. Change them anytime in Calendly and this calendar updates automatically.
Shadow Battleシャドーバトル
A pronunciation duel. The app plays a phrase, then both of you repeat it out loud, shadowing the sound. The partner judges whose repetition nailed it. The round winner earns +10, and a round too close to call pays +5 each. Best of 5 rounds, and the loser owes a tongue twister on the next call.
Practice Soloひとりれんしゅう
Train on your own time, between meetings. First, pick who you are. Solo practice earns XP on your own journey and never touches the versus scoreboard. Your journey is a path of chapters: finish lessons in order, pass each chapter checkpoint, and the next chapter opens, alongside your XP levels.
Profiles live on this device for this visit, and your solo summary at the end is how your progress travels to your partner: copy it and send it after you practice.
